Ad Hoc is a fast-paced, secret-topic crisis committee designed to challenge delegates' creativity, adaptability, and critical thinking. Unlike traditional Model UN committees, delegates do not know the committee topic before the conference. Instead, they receive the scenario at the start of committee and must quickly analyze the situation, develop strategic solutions, and respond to rapidly changing events introduced throughout the session. Success in Ad Hoc depends on strong collaboration, persuasive speaking, and the ability to think on your feet, making it an exciting experience for both experienced delegates and those looking for a unique Model UN challenge.
Hi delegates! I'm Anvi, and I'll be your head chair for this committee! I'm currently a junior at Foothill High School and I've been doing MUN since 8th grade. Outside of MUN, I enjoy photography, listening to music (Malcolm Todd anyone?), and binging tv shows (currently obsessica with Malcolm in the Middle), among other things! Make sure to have fun with your character in committee! I cannot wait to see how you all work together to solve the issues presented in committee. :)
What’s up, Delegates! I’m Jayden, and I’ll be your vice chair for this committee. I’m a junior at Amador Valley High School, and I’ve been doing MUN (mostly crisis) for 4 years now. I’m a total crisis fanatic, and I can’t wait for you all to really push the boundaries of what we’re expecting in both the frontroom and backroom today. Remember: thoughtfulness is good, but funny thoughtfulness is way better. Outside of MUN, I am a HUGE fan of Travis Scott (Astroworld on top) and Tame Impala. Go forth and make it huge, and feel free to ask whatever questions you have throughout the day.
