Single Delegate
General Assembly The General Assembly is the largest and most representative committee in an MUN conference. It simulates actual committees at the United Nations. At MMUNC I, our General Assembly committees bring delegates together to debate real global challenges of this year's theme, Global Health Security. Delegates will research their assigned country's policies, negotiate with fellow member states, and draft resolutions that balance national interests with international cooperation. General Assembly committees are a great starting point for delegates new to Model UN. With larger committee sizes and a slower-paced, more structured debate flow, these committees give delegates room to practice public speaking, build confidence in caucusing, and learn the fundamentals of resolution writing.
Dear delegates,
Welcome to UNSC at MMUNC I! I am Ekasha Sikka, a rising senior at Mission San Jose High School and one of your chairs for this committee. I have been participating in Model UN since my freshman year, and this will be my second time chairing! Outside of MUN, I enjoy writing, running, and exploring the outdoors.
Diplomacy and collaboration are at the heart of MUN. I encourage you all to put yourself out there at UNSC and build off of one another’s creative ideas and perspectives. Through plentiful debate and discussion, I am confident we will see some fantastic resolutions, friendships, and moments of brilliance and hilarity at UNSC!
Model UN is truly such a unique extracurricular, as each conference is an experience that cannot be replicated. For those of you new to MUN, it may seem intimidating at first, but I assure you that this committee will turn out for the best as long as you approach it with an open mind. I hope that UNSC brings you fundamental memories and learning opportunities, and I will do my best as a chair to foster an environment that encourages such growth. Good luck and I look forward to seeing you soon!
Cheers,
Ekasha Sikka

Dear fellow delegates
Welcome to the 2026 MMUNC’s United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Committee! I am excited to see the fruitful debate and conversation that we will have over the weekend. My name is Shu Ming Teon, and I am currently a senior at Westmoor High School in Daly City. This is my fourth year in MUN, and I am so thrilled to be able to chair for this committee this year. Apart from engaging in fruitful debate in MUN, I enjoy playing badminton, coding, crocheting, and sketching.
Regardless of experience, I can’t wait to see what unique perspectives and ideas each of you bring to this committee! I hope that this committee encourages you to get out there and engage with others through the discussion of important real world issues that we face today. MUN may be difficult, but I am confident that each and every one of you will do your best to contribute to fruitful debate and grow not only as a delegate but also as an individual. Thank you for taking the time to attend MMUNC I 2026, and I hope all of you are looking forward to the eventful committee session as much as I am
Sincerely,
Shu Ming Teon
